Post subject: Ace Chadverts *Updated 13 December 2006*

What it does:

Displays adverts in player chat area and / or top left area, with a prefix in optional colours. (see below)...
You can choose to cycle through adverts from 1 to END or Have the script pick adverts at random.

Example:

-AD- Welcome to our server

You can use server vars in the adverts.

Requirements:

Event Scripts v1.0 or 1.2 and higher for top text.

INSTALLATION:

Download the .rar file

../addons/eventscripts/ace_chadverts/es_ace_chadverts.txt

es_ace_chadverts_db.txt

es_load ace_chadverts

Here are the editable parameters

ADDING ADVERTS:

Open the file - es_ace_chadverts_db.txt

Add as many ads as you like.
Make sure each advert gets a consecutive number
Make sure the value of "chadcount" equals the number of ads you have added.

Updated! LOL: Added config option to choose ads randomly OR in order.
Added quite a large advert file for you to edit and play with.

Thank you, it works great and very simple (just the way I like it).

I have been thinking of adding some other chat areas to the adverts but at the moment I think that requires mani admin and mani already has adverts built in.

Added option to display ads in top left area as well as or instead of chat area. Either may enabled or disabled.

Is it possible to have it so that the prefix can have more than 1 colour?

wow, i was just thniking of making this by myself, but then i couldnt get es_toptext to work.. but this has way more options, which measn easier for the user of the script =D

In mani for work of Russian coding UTF8 was necessary. And here?
In Connect Sounds (here) coding UTF8 works and at you is not present. Why? You can make? If you can ask at XE_ManUp. In advance thanks.

I have always saved all of my scripts in "ANSI" format. I am not quite sure why this script would be any different. EventScripts is not "Mani" -- so I would suggest trying to use ANSI as far as saving the file.

If it doesn't work, then you may have a larger problem. :wink:
