Note: This is no longer the official release. Please see this thread for v1.3. See the beta forum for the newest features.

Special thanks to all of the beta testers! Things have been going well and we're now making this the official version.

New features:
  • New corelib commands:
  • Added popup library to the distribution package for menu management. (Thanks GODJonez!) Introduces:
    • popup create <name>
    • popup addline <name> <text>
    • popup submenu <name> <user-selection> <submenu-name>
    • popup menuselect <name> <block-name>
    • popup select <name> <user-selection> <block-name>
    • popup timeout <name> send <duration>
    • popup timeout <name> view <duration>
    • popup send <name> <recip-specifier>
    • popup isqueued <popupname> <variable> <userid>
    • popup unsendname <name> <recip-specifier>
    • popup delete <name>
  • EventScripts now auto-loads corelib at server start-up. I will eventually add a variable that allows people to avoid doing that if they want.
  • Added es_regsaycmd <cmd> <block> <description> - registers a command as a say command that will be eaten and pass args via es_getarg*.
  • Added es_regclientcmd <cmd> <block> <description> - registers a command as a client console command that will be handled and pass args via es_getarg*
  • Added es_getcmduserid <variable> - allows say/client commands to get the userid of the person calling the command.
  • Added notin operator to if.
  • Added es_trick command - it will be used for semi-hacks that some people might want to play with.
    • es_trick greenblock <userid> - places an inpassable green block in front of a player. Not cleaned-up on round end.
    • es_trick entity <entity_name> - creates an entity somewhere. WILL CRASH IF THE ENTITY NAME IS INVALID. Sets eventscripts_lastgive.
    • es_trick dispatcheffect <userid> <effect-name> <distance> -- causes an effect to appear some distance in front of a player.
  • Added userid type to es_exists.
  • Added es_dbgmsg <level> <msg> - outputs debug messages controlled by the eventscripts_debug level and the eventscripts_debuglog setting.
  • Added es_forcevalue <var> <value> - attempts to force a variable to a particular value without triggering notifies, etc. Useful for sv_cheats.
  • Added es_createbot <name> - adds a fake client to the server.
  • Added es_botsetvalue <userid> <convar-name> "<convar-value>" - set a variable for a bot.
  • Added es_fadevolume <userid> <percent> <fadetime> <holdtime> <fadeintime> - deafens a player.
  • Added es_lightstyle <stylenum> <stylestring> - I still don't know how to tweak this, but it's likely the same as what ES_Tools provides.
  • Added es_stringtable <tablename> <string> - useful for adding data to one of the many server/client stringtables.
  • Added es_stopsound <userid> <soundname>
  • Added es_getgame <variable> - returns the name of the current game.
  • Added es_usermsg command (experimental and advanced):
  • Added es_dumpusermessages - outputs the names and indexes for the current known usermessages. Can crash the server for non-CS:S mods if you don't set eventscripts_maxmsg low enough.
  • es_getplayerhandle <var> <userid> - returns the internal 'handle' value for a particular userid (i.e. "howner" handles. Special thanks to awuh0 for hints here)
  • es_keygroupfilter <keygroup> <not/only> <part-of-value-name> <value> - apply a filter to prune a keygroup. You can filter the keygroup such that it includes "only" keys with the valuename/value pair, or you can filter it such that the keygroup only includes keys that do "not" include the valuename/value pair. This function is not something you want to run all the time on medium-to-large keygroups.
  • es_createplayerlist enhanced:
    • Provides the handle to the player
    • Provides the ping of the player
    • Provides the packetloss of the player
    • Provides the IP address of the player

New variables:
  • eventscripts_maxmsg - controls the user message number for each gametype. 28 is used for CS:S.
Fixes:
  • Fixed bug with eventscripts_debug where it could crash when used with es_format.
  • Slight improvement in performance in corelib commands
  • Fixed that es_player_chat that was truncating say_text
  • Changed es_menu such that it tries to work in some other games (special thanks, again, to awuh0 for his tricks around this)
  • Changed es_msg and es_tell such that they might work in other games besides CS:S
  • Changed Linux rcon, may not work at all anymore. (experimenting)
  • Added repeat fixes to corelib

es_lightstyle Works same metod than est_lightstyle eg. es_lightstyle 0 a (Full Dark) es_lightstyle 0 g (default maps ligth)

Does it give you an error message? Send me some example code that doesn't work, and tell me what behavior you're seeing.

I don't think greenblock will ever be useful to anyone in CS:S. It's such a weird command that I'm borrowing from Valve. I suspect it might work better in games without round resets.

Sorry for the n00b question. I am guessing that es_regclientcmd doesn't trap existing commands, only creates new ones?

I was reading the documentation and found the reason for all of this.
