   Post subject: Bleed

Bleed v1.1

Requirements:
Eventscripts 1.0

Install:
1. Put es_Bleed.txt into cstrike/addons/eventscripts/Bleed/
2. Put this in autoexec.cfg
Code:
es_load Bleed

3. Restart your server

Features:
Starts a player bleeding based on the value you set in b_health (see configuration)

Configuration:
Edit the variables inside of block load:
Quote:
b_health - Set this value to the value you want users to start bleeding after being hurt.
b_dhealth - Set this value to the value you want users to start taking damage after being hurt.
b_sound - Set this to 1 to play a sound when taking damage.

Does anyone have any screenshots of this? Or a test server which is currently running? I wanted to take a peek at this and see what it was like.

I tried to run it on my local machine, but I guess this mod doesn't work on bots? (Bots aren't alive so they dont 'bleed'?) :)

And yeah, I was curious if someone could bleed to death after a while? If so, does the person would mortally wounded them get credit for the kill? XD

This script would be kinda cool with landmines. If the landmines don't finish them off they'd surely bleed to death. :)

No, it doesn't cause damage. If you guys want me to add damage let me know. It should work on a listen server with bots. That's what I tested it on. The bot's health just has to be lower than the value set in b_health

Yeah, I set the b_health to 50 then shot them in the head (I had them set to knives only) then watched them run away from me. I didn't notice anything different. I'll try again to see if I had done something incorrectly. It was late at night when I was playing around with it.

Yes!! If you would, Please add the Code for damage, so hp would be lowered 1hp on every Bleed. Does it leave a Blood trail?

My suggestion would be to add a new b_health variable. The first variable is the trigger for the bleeding. (Example: at 50 health start bleeding). THEN, a second variable maybe d_health for damage, for mortal wounds. (Example: at 25 health start to lose 1 hp per bleed)

That means if you get below 25 you'll have to rush to kill your enemy before you die yourself. :) I think that'd be pretty neat.

Maybe eventually adding some way of getting a band-aide for yourself to stop the bleeding/damage. Hehe.

You are some crazy mod makers. Making this game so realistic.

Has anyone gotten the bleeding to actually work though? I don't want to go ahread if you guys are having problems with the basic script. I have yet to actually test it in a dedicated server, but it seemed to work last night when I tested on a listen server with bots.

Well I can say that it did not work for me last night, but it was extremely late and I probably did something wrong. I'll try again as soon as I get home this evening.

I just tested on my Linux dedicated server and it worked just fine. Make sure you're actually FOLLOWING in the install directions (Check capitilzation, it matters). If you still can't get it to work let me know. I'll try to help.

Yeap that was it, forgot to type es_load Bleed. It crashes the server everytime. I guess it will not work on DOD:S.. :(

I think this is the cause, I do not know what it's for,

I think that screws up DOD:S..

Not positive but what does it do? Mabey another way around that code.

I got the script to work perfectly by typing es_load Bleed I think I may have used a lowercase B on the script last night. That may or may not have been the problem last night.

Anyway. It worked perfectly and I tried VERY VERY hard to get a screenshot of it. But I just couldn't time it correctly. But just wanted to let you know that I did get it to work just fine.

P.s. I'm playing CS:S for the record.

uppercase in es_load can definately cause problems. Some of my scripts work ok with it, but if I do es_load MB_Matrix, it blows up :P
