What is it?
A leveling mod for Counter Strike:Source. Everyone starts with a glock. You must get a kill with it to level up to level 2. You get better weapons the higher level you are, until the end. The last two levels are the hardest: hegrenade, then knife. It adds a new twist to how you play CS, and also helps clans to train with weapons they don't normally use.

New features for v3.0.x:
  • Added Knife Elite
    Use this to get your next weapon after you've leveled up
  • Added rcon command gg_setlevel to change player levels
    Format: gg_setlevel <playername> <level>
  • Added rcon command gg_reset to reset the Gun Game scores
  • AMX windows are handled within EventScripts now
  • Added Knife Advanced level swapping (Knife Pro and Knife Advanced cannot be turned on at the same time)
  • Added limited BOT support
  • Added Knife Pro level stealing ability
  • Added triple level bonus
  • Admins can customize the weapons and number of levels in the Gun Game
  • Added end of map vote when someone reaches the next to last level in the weapon order (this requires mani's admin plugin)
  • Added support for admins to turn GG on/off AFTER a map has already begun

Requirements:
Mattie's Eventscripts v1.1+ (DOWNLOAD)
Mani's Admin MOD (optional, only required for Gun Game specific sounds, and map voting)

Installation:
  1. Edit the es_gungame3.txt file for your own server.
  2. Save it as /cstrike/addons/eventscripts/gungame3/es_gungame3.txt
  3. Add es_load gungame3 to your autoexec.cfg file.


*Note: If you do not want it to run all the time, then you need to start it from rcon via the es_load gungame3 command. Then to turn it off, type es_unload gungame3 in the server console or rcon.
If you use mani, simply update your rconlist.txt file so you can use your admin menu like this:
Add these lines to rconlist.txt

Below the code is the .zip file that contains all the sounds we run on our Gun Game server at 4HM. If you like them, use them. If not, you can replace them with your own sounds, just make sure you update the es_gungame.txt file, and your downloads.txt file in your mani installation.

Thanks for catching that philippk. If anyone else has already downloaded v3.0.1, upgrade it to 3.0.2. There were a couple of typos, and I added a custom variable to adjust the triple level sound.

Also, you don't have to do anything for it to work with mani. Just make sure your mani installation works, and the Gun Game will take care of it on its own. The only mani command it uses now is ma_msay for the AMX style window messages. But, this is not a requirement, because the same output is in the player's console, now. :D

!score was not working for you because I had it setup to use mani by default on my server. OOPS! Fixed that here, too. =)

One question tho.....can I pre-edit the weapons order/list without going in game? Or do I need to be in game, and edit the weapons order/list via gungame menu?

Not to make a fuss but do you think it would be possible to change the level setup.

Current Setup

Suggested Setup

es_xsetinfo gg_weapon_level2 "usp"
es_xsetinfo gg_weapon_level22 "hegrenade,glock"



That way you could have multiple weapons per level. So like on level 22 it's the nade level you have to get a nade kill but you also get a glock to help however if you get a glock kill it won't advance you.

See what I mean? What ever the first weapon listed would be the one you need to advance.



Also what is the new triple level thing you speak up?

I created gungame3 folder and put the cfg file in there and nothing happened. There must be more files. My other gungame folder has everything in it still.

I got mine working. I deleted my old gungame2 folder, as there was no need to have that lying around, though you may want to back yours up. I added es_load gungame3 to my autoexec.cfg. I put es_gungame3.txt in cstrike/addons/eventscripts/gungame3. Rebooted my server and it started up with gungame3 going.

Hmmm I did the exact same thing and it won't work. Could you possibly post your working .txt file here for download as an attachment. Maybe something got screwed up in the copy and paste process.

I failed to see the requirement of the new beta ES....

WOrking.... but not giving weapons...
correction... it GIVES a glock, and takes it back away... wierd

I have a similar suggestion or request......

In 2.1.3, I give the HE and Nade levels a smoke grenade (where I have Einlanderz' einpoison script enable to have smoke nades give damage) and I also give the knife level a flashbang as well........

Would love to be able to continue to do this.....thank you in advance!!!
