Post subject: No Suicide Mod

This mod is primarily scripted for surf servers though is very useful in others as well. When you commit suicide you will be given back the kill that it takes away. This can be very useful for surf servers such as Surf_greatriver and Surf_meh_chopper, because even pros fall to their death eventually, not to mention beginners... It also refunds your score if you type "kill" in your console.

** Please post any comments or features you think would be helpful!

*** Easy to install. Just place es_load nosuicide in your server.cfg or autoexec.cfg and place files accordingly in your cstrike directory.

you should upload your scripts to addons.eventscripts.com so people can find them.

it doesn't have to be approved, you just upload it, and announce it from there.

he just means it's better to click 'announce this addon' then post that, with the download link from addons.eventscripts.com and all the other info.
it says super dave scripted it anyway so he probably wasn't gonna release it himself at all if u2fat didn't.

this is a good idea though. could also add (optional) functions to hook the kill bind so it does nothing and respawn people back where they suicided incase anyone wanted to use this for something to remove suicide alltogether.

Well... this mod was specifically made for surf maps (though not limited to) so say someone jumps on the bed at surf_bedroom...they die... they then come back to life ont he bed with a scout... see the dilemma? Many maps are built to keep people from getting to unfair place by killing them. This would bypass that and in the end, make it unfair to others. So yes, it can be abused.

yep, that's why i said make it an optional function

make a config and leave it off by default so it can still work for surf maps etc.
just an idea though.. i don't even know what you use what i'm talking about for anyway.

Good script buddy, just a few suggestions I wanted to tell you on the server and I didn't have time to ^^,

try making the message private to the person, you know I been on SDK with you, its really annoying when noobs are playing and like 3 or 4 people commit suicide in a row, you end up not being able to read anything in the textbox..

another thing, the message actually just comes up sometimes without anyone committing Suicide

Hey thanks nizzo and normally it shows up like that if an admin slays them or if they get put into spectator mode i think (though i haven't noticed it). Also, I might update it for you guys by giving the credits and create an option for ppl to choose if they want it to display a message. Ill get to it eventually though im a little busy. Maybe this weekend or sooner. BTW nizo u should join our clan

Hope you and SD don't mind, I've made an edit of this script.

The addons folder was inside another addons folder, I fixed that up.
You have an external config to customize things like which messages should pop up,
Whether to respawn people where they died (like i was saying before) etc..
All the config options are commented.

There's now only 1 message that goes to public chat. the rest is sent directly to the player.
Added a public variable for the version.
Optimized some commands like es_set to es_xset.

I added my own credits in, you can remove them if you want.
Feel free to update yours with this if you want too.

Edit: Updated it again (4th august), added kill adjustment and dead body removal for mode 2.
