Post subject: Ace Skinner + Super Power Game *Updated June 16 2007*

This script has 2 roles that can be linked:

Takes a skin from a list held in the db file and assigns it to a player or bot. the skin is assigned when player joins a team so it will be the same skin until he changes team again.

Also will randomly assign a SUPER skin to any number of players and give that player super powers for one round.

The stand-alone super power script can be found here:

The player with super powers will glow, he will get increased health, he will emit a very strange sound, he will move very fast.

Option for him to start only with knife. If he picks up a weapon it will be removed so he can only use knife. Also removes bomb and hostages. This is recommended.

If you kill him you will receive a cash bonus. He will also make a lovely odd noise when he dies. :-)

Skins are optional now and most options can be configurable.

Also built in safe guards in case you set more supers than you have on the server.

You just got to try it really!

KNOWN ISSUES:

I have noticed that certain skins seem to crash my server (the predator skin and a couple of other novelty skins) so it is disabled by default. I believe this is a LINUX server problem with certain skins.

Well i have to say m8 this script looks great ,just the sort of thing to put a little bit more fun in to my server as i use the skins myself :wink:

Cool. If there is interest, I will add to this. Shame that some skins seem to crash linux servers though.

Well my banged it straight on and then went on and i was laughing my head at all the admins rofl , i think its great m8 i have modified it to choose other skins other than admins ,left the predator on havent seen it working as of yet but still awaiting now but server hasnt crashed so maybe its working i have it set to 1.

And i hope u didnt mind me changing the skins it uses as the mod i use beetlesmod only sets one skin to bots so this is great thx m8.

I don't seem to be crashing at all but the predator isn't showing i have changed the command

es_rand predno 1 5

and the main setting is set at es_set pred_active 1

but nothing shows but what i did do was put it on a m8 of mine and this is what it looked like lol

1. No I don't mind you editing the skins settings at all. That was part of the point really and I'm glad someone has taken the initiative. Nice one.

2. Predator will not show unless:

I know this seems a little backwards but there you go. If this var is set to 1 predator will NEVER show. I suggest you set all vars back to the defaults and then set this var to 0.

3. The predator skin hasn't loaded. You must have the predator skin loaded and the entry in my script to show that is:

es playerset model event_var(userid) player/ics/predator_rawr/t_leet.mdl

Also don't forget (for anyone else reading) that you must actually have downloaded and installed the actual predator skin files on your server.

OK mate we'll look into the predator skin thing later, I suspect it's just that you have a different skin pack than I used or something.

So are you using Windows or Linux server? No crashes when Lara dies?

LOL. Yes the funny thing is that the Predator part of the script just happened as I was messing about getting the skin working.

I actually had my clan members walking around as Asian Hostages... LOL but the animations don't work properly. Then tried them as various other props - Trucks, Barrels, Boxes etc. LOL.

I will definitely be adding on to this with options to force skin on players as well as bots etc.

Hi again m8 just a little question if u dont mind m8, i edited the script a little more to run with another aka predator spawning it was working.

But now some times it wont show the second skin i was wondering if i post a link u would have a look at it for me to see if i did ok with it or if u new what i did wrong :roll:

I have also made some edits mate. Best thing to do is to PM me then I can look it over in my own time.

I think a list of suggestions for this would be good too. ie.:

Possible to spawn more than one predator?
Possible to predatorise humans?
Colours?
Health?
Options for other skins?

Ok I'll get to this next chance I get.

I have started using the LARA skin btw and no crashes. I find also that one of the female skins causes crashes when HS by TK.

Stand by and keep any suggestions coming if you can please.

What would be good is if we could find some really good skin to use as the ultimate predator with say 750 hp

Its a pitty that some sort of download script could not be implemented
in to this script .
I no its a totally different ball game doing something like that .

OK new version is nearly done. Has the a ability to auto assign skins to admins both human and bots and indeed any other skins.

Script is TONS tidier without all the skin checking at player_spawn.

Also features some novelties like the predator add on.

Also if bots are assigned skins they will retain the same skin until team change.

Stand by.
