Details
Players can buy suicide bombs. After a short delay, an audible beep will indicate the bomb is armed. To setup your detonator, open your console using ~ and type bind <any key> boom (ie. bind v boom)."

Some bombs are faulty and may not detonate. Chest damage may accidentally detonate bombs. Bombs will explode in a chain reaction if the player is killed by another explosion.

- Buy small or large bombs
- Small bombs upgradable if not used
- Configurable explosion magnitudes

- Configurable arming delay

Updated to v1.1 with configurable roundstart delay timer. After the time is up, it plays a beep sound and let's everyone know that bombs are armed.

Updated to 1.2. Now includes chain reactions. Players killed in explosions also explode.

How about making it so that there is no timer, but the suicider types something in chat to set off the bomb?

This way you can sneak close to your victim, and BOOOM!

this is almost like the suicide bomber on wc mod, except theres no effect, but never the less, i love suicide bombing pple :D

You can set the delay to 0 and it will be armed immediately. The delay is mainly to prevent spawn tks on ff enabled servers. Also, people should be able to "bind k kill" or similar to make it easy to use.

The new version (1.3) includes random explosion sounds and spark effects. Prior versions did have some small effects from the env_explosion.

Ah I see; I thought you meant the bomb exploded after a set time after round start.

Am I correct in saying that the only way to set off the bomb is to get killed, and that event triggers the detonation?

I guess I was thinking that the player would be able to trigger the bomb on demand (say, via something they say in chat). This way they can hide around a corner, and then boom when the CT's get near. Kind of a cat-and-mouse kind of thing ;)

And how about making the players buy the bomb, at whatever price the admin likes? This way you have to work hard to get a bomb (build up enough cash for it). It wouldn't have to be a full fledged buy, but maybe just a popup menu shown to any players who have enough cash to buy it (asking them whether or not they want a suicide belt). If they say yes, take the appropriate amount of cash way and give em a belt :D

I thought about adding a buy menu, but I'm not convinced it is worth the the added complexity. Also, this would be a CSS specific change. Perhaps a better solution would be to give it to a random player on each team? Anyway, I don't see this script being too popular due to the suicide requirement for use.

And yeah, I think it might be popular with the following two additions:
1) players can buy the bomb (it's like a special item)
2) players can set it off on demand. Even if they buy the suicide bomb, they don't have to actually set if off unless they feel they need to.

I know I would add it to my server with those two things :D

Basically a very simplified view what I would do (again, this is just me...) is:

As requested by and with the help of *XYZ*SaYnt, I have added buy menus to this latest version. Now, instead of all suicides creating explosions (craziness), Terrorist are prompted to buy either a small (default $5000) or large (default $8000) bomb. After a delay (default 20 seconds) anyone with a bomb will be notified that it is armed as well as emit a beep sound which can be heard by anyone nearby. Once armed, bombs can be detonated 3 ways: with a detonation bind, by chain reaction from another bomb, or randomly by chest damage. Players lose their bombs if they die or switch to CT. If they survive, players with small bombs are prompted to upgrade (default $3500) to large bombs. The latest version also includes explosion effects from MAP.
