Sounds like the Linux system does not have zlib installed, so the zip module is not able to load correctly.

On my Ubuntu the package is named "zlib1g" and can be installed with "apt-get install zlib1g". Depending on which Linux distribution he is running the installation might be a little different. If it is not his own server then he needs to ask the server admin to install the libraries.

I readed this there

zipimport.ZipImportError: can't decompress data; zlib not available
install the python-dev package or install python from source

I did but same problem. And I installed upgrade python from 2.4.4 version to 2.5 version on my debian, same problem, please help

Not quite. I'm undead.

I can't tell from this why you're having troubles on your particular flavor of Linux. The best advice I have for you is to extract your addons\eventscripts\_engines\python\Lib.zip into addons\eventscripts\_engines\python\Lib\ such that startup doesn't require zlib (maybe).

I don't know why zlib won't load for your environment. You could try copying your official Python 2.5 zlib.so into the directory you show zlib.so above, but there's a decent chance that won't work properly.

Try also installing the lib32z1 package (or lib64z1 if your on 64bit). Also add zlib-bin and zlib1g-dev if you have no joy there.

i just installed zlib-bin and zlib1g-dev. the problem is still there.

for indication. the problem is there since the orange is in place. before. I never had this problem

when i did that the server run with events script. now I will try if it work with scripts. think very much
