Announcement: Forums have moved to forums.eventscripts.com
Posted: Mattie @ 2009-05-02, 12:30 pm

Hey,
The domains have been a bit confused over the years as we grew organically and I'm trying to get things into a better state. We're making some domain/site changes over the next few weeks and I did the first part today.
Today I moved forums.mattie.info to forums.eventscripts.com. You'll need to relogin on forums.eventscripts.com to get your cookies situated.
Further, I plan to move the download page at mattie.info/cs over to the root of www.eventscripts.com and potentially move the ESS wiki over to wiki.eventscripts.com.
As these sites move, your existing bookmarks and links should redirect to the proper place. Please let me know ASAP if one of your old links doesn't work anymore.
Thanks,
-Mattie

Announcement: New look! New style! New forum!
Posted: HelenAngel @ 2009-04-01, 2:55 am
As you probably know, Mattie has been really stressed-out and such lately. So I, the adoring and doting wife that I am, have offered to go ahead and take over the forums for him.
Now, I love my husband and he rocks but this place really needed a little color. So you may notice just a few little changes in style and such that I've made to give it more WOW. Of course, I've also replaced the logo.
Now don't worry, you'll still have all the same content stuff but I'm also adding a NEW forum because honestly, I don't really code and I'd like to also talk about something I know. Introducing the SPA FORUM! As XE can tell you, I am all about the home spa stuff. I am all about home spa treatments- from microdermabrasion to pedicures to aromatherapy to kitchen herbalism. So please feel free to ask away! Some of you guys may not be into it, but I KNOW we have some closet spa-niks out there who would love to discuss!
Anyway, super big hugs to all of you and thanks for being so understanding. I'll do my best!
P.S.- The domain name will go to helenangel.info as soon as I figure out how to do it.
P.P.S.- Okay, Mattie will help me change it.
P.P.P.S.- But not right now, he said he's really busy so it'll take a few days.

Announcement: Source Python Extensions Beta (by your-name-here)
Posted: Mattie @ 2009-03-16, 8:53 pm
Mr. your-name-here just announced public beta for his cool Source Python Extensions. With this extension, you can do all sorts of things not possible in EventScripts proper (since ES doesn't support sigscanning by design).
Here's just one example of the cool things you can do:
| python: | import es
from spe.games import cstrike
def load():
es.regsaycmd("!respawn", "rescript/respawn", "Respawns a player.")
def respawn():
userid = es.getcmduserid()
cstrike.Respawn( userid )
es.tell(userid, "You've been respawned!") |
Basically, he's opened the door for you to setup signature scans that are accessible from Python.
When loaded on the server, you can use ES and spe together as you wish from Python scripts.
Take a look and let him know what issues you find:

Updated: Updated the example using the newest syntax.

Announcement: New ES chat group via Chatterous.com
Posted: Mattie @ 2009-03-06, 8:53 pm
We've got a new EventScripts chat room here:
http://www.chatterous.com/eventscripts/
The great thing about Chatterous is that it gives you chat rooms that follow you around where you want to be. For example, I have it setup to send messages to my GTalk instant messengers. You can also get it via email, jabber, SMS, Twitter, the web, etc. Another great part about it is that the history is all searchable so we don't lose great answers to ES scripting questions.
I highly recommend you create a Chatterous account here to use it because it gets very difficult for "Guest" IDs to get responses (hard to tell them apart).
Right now [NATO]Hunter (thanks!) is testing out the EvieBot link to the Gamesurge IRC to the Chatterous EventScripts channel. We'll see if that bridge can stay up for very long.
Let me know what you think,
-Mattie
